Booya, a Mexican digital lending platform, has been named the Most Innovative Digital Lending Platform for Financial Inclusion at The Global Economics Awards 2026.

The award recognizes Booya’s AI-driven approach to consumer lending and its contribution to expanding credit access in Mexico.

The Global Economics is a UK-based publication covering business, finance, and technology worldwide.

This year’s awards brought together companies from markets across Latin America, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, with winners evaluated on technological innovation, digital user experience, and measurable impact on financial inclusion in their respective markets.

Booya earned the recognition for applying AI across the full credit lifecycle.

By combining traditional credit bureau data with alternative data sources, its credit scoring models can accurately evaluate applicants with limited or no formal credit history, allowing loans to be disbursed in as fast as five minutes.

Booya integrates credit scoring, risk profiling, and fraud prevention directly into its lending process, with a multimodal anti-fraud system designed to counter emerging threats such as AI face-swap and voice-synthesis attacks.

The award also reflects Booya’s continued efforts in advancing financial inclusion. According to Mexico’s National Survey of Financial Inclusion (ENIF 2024), only 37.3% of Mexican adults have access to formal credit.

Since its launch in March 2025, Booya has served more than 1 million registered users, most of whom are small business owners, freelancers, and consumers with limited or no formal credit history, groups that often find it difficult to access credit through traditional channels.
