Marie-Elise Droga has been appointed Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) at Brazil’s EBANX, a payments technology company operating in emerging markets.
With two decades of experience in the payments industry, particularly in cross-border transactions and international expansion, Droga will lead the company’s global commercial and partnerships teams starting this month.
Her career includes leadership positions at major financial services firms such as Visa and Western Union.
At Visa, she held the position of Senior Vice President, Head of Fintech Partnerships, Global and North America, where she was involved in expanding the company’s presence in emerging fintech sectors.
At Western Union, she served as Senior Vice President, Global Head of Enterprise Strategic Partnerships, focusing on the company’s role in cross-border payments.
Most recently, she was CRO at Consumer Edge, managing teams across the United States, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region.
Originally from France, Droga has lived and worked in seven countries, India, Australia, Fiji, the United Kingdom, Belgium, France, and the United States, providing her with a broad perspective on both developing and mature markets.

“Having witnessed firsthand the struggles for financial inclusion in emerging markets, I am driven by a purpose to create real change and impact in these communities. This isn’t a concept to me, it’s a lived reality I have seen up close,”
she said.
In her new role, Droga will be responsible for further expanding EBANX’s network of enterprise clients, which currently includes over 500 companies from North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.
The company operates in 29 countries across Latin America, Africa, and Asia. She aims to strengthen EBANX’s reach in these regions and contribute to its ongoing growth.
“My journey across diverse organisations, from fast-moving startups to global companies, has shaped a deep understanding of what it takes to scale and succeed in complex, evolving markets,”
she said.
João Del Valle, CEO and Co-founder of EBANX, commented:

“Marie-Elise’s experience in building high-performing teams worldwide, unlocking value through strategic partnerships, and driving meaningful growth makes her the right fit to help our merchants and partners expand faster and go further. She’ll play a key role as EBANX continues shaping the future of payments and e-commerce.”
Droga noted that one of the main reasons she joined EBANX was the company’s focus on expanding financial access in emerging economies.
These regions are increasingly important to global commerce, with online sales across Latin America, Africa, and India projected to exceed USD 1.3 trillion by 2027, according to EBANX’s Beyond Borders 2025 report.
“As developed markets begin to recognise the complexity and rapid evolution of local payments in emerging economies, EBANX is uniquely positioned to bridge that gap with the infrastructure and insight required to succeed,”
she said.
Del Valle added:
“The data clearly shows there’s a strong reason for merchants to focus on these markets. Marie-Elise is the right leader, in the right place, to help EBANX connect rising economies and businesses.”
