Rappi, a super app in Latin America, has partnered with global wallet platform AstroPay to introduce the region’s first wallet on file integration.
The service allows users in Argentina, Brazil and Peru to pay directly with balances in multiple currencies, without the need for cards.
The launch comes amid rapid growth in Latin America’s cross border payments market, which is expanding by 47 percent annually driven by freelance work and global digital commerce.
Users can complete instant transactions using balances in US dollars, euros or local currencies, with real time foreign exchange conversion and no delays linked to card processing.

“This is a direct bridge between two massive ecosystems,”
said Ella Viana, Business Development Director, AstroPay.
“Our users gain instant access to Latin America’s top super app, and Rappi taps into a high value audience earning globally and spending locally.”
For Rappi, the integration is intended to reduce operational costs and improve efficiency by removing traditional card steps.
The company noted that embedding AstroPay also lowers exposure to chargebacks and supports higher conversion rates.
Gerardo Vilchis, Global Commercial Director Rappi Ads, said,

“The partnership with AstroPay aligns with our roadmap to exceed user expectations by delivering simpler purchasing experiences. We are not merely adding a payment method; we are building seamless, secure and borderless experiences designed for the next generation of users.”
The service is now available in Argentina, Brazil and Peru, with further rollout to other Rappi markets planned during 2025.
Early adopters will receive cashback and in app benefits when linking their AstroPay wallet.
The partnership reflects a wider trend in Latin America, where super apps and digital wallets are converging and embedded payments are increasingly becoming the standard in mobile first economies.
