Dock, a Brazil-based banking and digital payments company, and Credibanco, a Colombian electronic payments firm, have partnered to support Bre-B, a new instant payments system launched by Colombia’s Banco de la República.
The initiative aims to enhance the country’s payment infrastructure by enabling secure, real-time transactions for businesses and individuals, operating 24/7.
Scheduled to launch in September 2025, Bre-B is designed to lower transaction costs, eliminate waiting times, and improve cash flow management.
The system will utilise keys and QR codes to facilitate access for unbanked individuals and businesses while maintaining stringent security standards to minimise fraud and promote financial inclusion.
Ricardo Zambrano
“We are committed to implementing an interoperable immediate payment system in Colombia, an initiative led by Banco de la República through Bre-B,”
said Ricardo Zambrano, President of Credibanco.
“Our partnership with Dock strengthens this national effort by combining Credibanco’s expertise in the Colombian market with Dock’s proven technology. Our proposal is the only one that is born 100% in the cloud, designed specifically for Bre-B, which guarantees easy implementation, rapid adoption and innovation in different use cases.”
To support adoption, Credibanco will assist banks, cooperatives, fintech firms, and businesses throughout the integration process with technical support, onboarding tools, and educational resources.
Credibanco’s platform is designed to process instant transfers with high security and availability standards. Security remains a key priority, and the company has partnered with Portugal-based Feedzai, a fraud prevention firm using artificial intelligence.
Feedzai, which has played a role in securing Pix transactions in Brazil, will integrate its technology into Bre-B.
Antonio Soares
“The Bre-B project aligns with everything we believe in at Dock – our core mission of achieving true financial inclusion in Latin America,”
said Antonio Soares, CEO of Dock.
“The transformative impact of Pix in Brazil has shown us that instant payments can change realities. With Bre-B, we reaffirm our commitment to democratising access to financial services and creating opportunities for progress across the entire region.”
